[ltp] problems with 365XD

I'm new to the list, so I'm hoping that someone can help me out.  I just
installed RH 6.2 on my IBM 365XD, with only 2 glitches to work on.

1) I cannot run more than 640x480 (8bit color) in X, I would like to get
800x600 also in 8bit...
2) I'm also having trouble with the PCMCIA modem and ethernet
     -modem is a MultiMobile brand 56k
     -ethernet is a 3com 10Mbps (Model 3CCE589EC)
