[ltp] ultrabay how recognize it on linux??

I'd suspect so. I have a Thinkpad 600E/2645-550, but my wife has a
600E/2645-5A* (I think). She can (under Win98 at least) connect the
floppy disk station to the external connector on-the-fly. I must
reboot to have it locate the attached drive. That makes me envious
as h#ll.... 

Does anyone have one of these more recent ones running Linux and tried 
attaching the drive without reboot?
