But it works when you boot into runlevel 3, right? I have never tried booting
to run level 5.....the problem might well exist when you do that.

So as of now, if were to summarize the problems with the video driver, it would
look as follows:

1) Cannot have simultaneous LCD + CRT display (this seems to be unique to the
IX8+ based T21s) .....Tim says this has to do with the BIOS.
2) Incorrect rendering of fine lines (shows up in Matlab plots).
3) Cannot play mpegs/dvds at 24 bpp color depth.
4) VT switching doesnt work when booting into runlevel 5, or if we are not
frame buffers.

Of these, I think only IBM can shed light regarding the first problem.
