FWIW, I installed Caldera OpenLinux 2.4 onto my TP600 with virtually no
problems whatsoever. I found that the stock PCMCIA support did not work, so
I dl'ed the pcmcia-cs source tarball and built it, and the results were
excellent. I added two lines to /etc/XF86Config to enable internal/external
display switching, and a script to load the sound driver late in the boot
sequence, and everything has been copacetic ever since.
