well.
after some fight my pcmcia netcard is working properly.
now i'm using the kernel's pcmcia stuff since it is not
possible to use the pcmcia-cs drivers with kernel 2.5.0 and above.
but i still have problems with the snd card. alsa cannot find my
card : No soundcards found
i compiled into the kernel the cs4232, cs4236+, cs461x drivers.
all of them. :) plus the OSS emulation and all related stuff.

by the way. what does this mean? :
AC'97 read problem (ACSTS_VSTS), codec_index 0, reg = 0x2
i have a bunch of these error messages at bootup time.

does anyone know what kind of card the tp600e has? cs4239, cs4610 or ...?
i'm considering downloading the standalone alsa and using that instead
of the kernel's builtin drivers. comments?
which driver should i use with alsa (i've never used alsa before)?

thanks
