I use a Belinea 1280x1024 TFT as a second display. Adapt the "Default 
Screen 1" and "Generic Monitor 1" sections to your external display.

The radeon driver from the 4.2 X is buggy and I had to start X with 
disconnected external display and connect it when X was up. 4.3 version 
of XFree86 works fine.
