Hello,
 
  This newbie needs some help! I'm trying to access my serial port by doing the following:  cat /dev/ttys0. I get the following:"Input/Output Error". I've looked in my bios and the serial port is enabled on IRQ 4. The IRda port is disabled so there appears to be no conflicts. I'm using a thinkpad 2647. Can anyone help me??? Thanks!!!
