Ya I don't have a floppy drive for this thing. I'll have a look at the
archive and see if I can find it.
I'll assume this is only a 10.1 issue? Never had a problem with the =
other
versions on my 770.=20
I think I might know what else is the problem. I think this DVD/CD drive =
is
crapped out. Trying a few CDs/DVDs
and they all seemed to have problems reading the disks. I download the =
first
CD for 10.1 and tried to boot that,
the first CD I created wouldn't boot, the second one, it would, but as =
it
was loading up the kernel is came back
with a error that it couldn't read the disk. So first I have to see what =
I
can do about this drive.

To install Mandrake 10.1 from DVD or CD you MUST have coppied the =
additional

device drivers to a floppy and have that floppy in the floppy drive.=20
If you do not have a floppy drive then it probably would be best to =
choose=20
some other method of installation.
If you downloaded Mandrake 10.1 I have no idea where you get the =
auxiliary=20
device drivers off the CD or DVD.
There was considerable discussion on this on this BB archives =
approximately
1=20
or 2 months back with the final posting being mine describing in detail =
how
I=20
accomplished this. I would repost except I might miss a few details not=20
having my notes with me.

Frank

PS: SuSE 9.2 installation is much easer than Mandrake 10.1.
