[ltp] Power Supply Adapters for Cars?

I'd like to use my 600e on longer car trips, and with a degrading battery
that isn't as far as I'd like.

Are there any DC/DC converters that work with thinkpads?   Is there a
solution better than

DC -> AC -> DC just seems silly to me.   I'd try and build one myself, but
those electronics courses were a VERY long time ago and I'd rather not fry
my laptop!
