[ltp] rotating the screen

I am curious as to whether anyone here has used a monitor that can
rotate. I have a x40 but I use an external monitor that can rotate. I
setup the xorg.conf to automatically rotate the screen (since xrandr
wasn't allowing me to do it.) Unfortunately, though the screen rotated
the mouse didn't! Or at least what I could see didn't rotate. I say that
because though the cursor would move as if the screen was still in its
normal position, even when I managed to get the cursor over the text
input box I couldn't click it. 

Any suggestions?
