it should be, however I don't how exactly how the older thinkpad docks
are wired up.  I think they have an external tmds transmitter that
just takes the incoming analog signal and converts it to DVI.  I think
it should just work.  Which savage driver are you using?  does
dualhead work?  is there an analog out on the docking station too? 
does that work?
