Guillermo, aren't the CDs that IBM supplies the same as any normal
Windows install CDs?  I wasn't handed one;  I doubt the CDs IBM gives
have been tweaked for installations on ThinkPads.

Yes, you can.  And /theoretically/, like any typical Windows
installation, it should pick up the first vfat partition and install
it there.  But, as Chrisptopher said earlier, do back-up your
important data, just in case.
