It does a lot of rubbish that you won't need, but it also disables usb
before suspending. Additionally you might want to try disabling
(unloading) network interface drives and an eventually running mysql
daemon.

And you might want to change the framebuffer driver - maybe that's what
doesn't manage to resume.
