[ltp] recommendation on external DVD reader/writer

  I don't need the double layer writing of now but I'm thinking of something that it will last. 
  I think I am going for the Lacie drive with a NEC3500AG mechanism.

And the discs are prohibitively expensive, unles you NEED >4.2GB filespace
that you can't subdivide.
