in the bugzilla entry Alex Deucher refered, two implementations were proposed: 
one with EmulateWheelClickToo, and one with EmulateWheelTimeout. i did 
"strings mouse_drv.o" , and found neither ..

i guess i'll have to wait for the next ubuntu version ...
