[ltp] acpi and sleep/suspend

Hello everyone,

I have IBM Tinkkpad R51, and I'd like to ask - what is the best
solution (software) for suspending to ram or hdd? I've read about
http://www.suspend2.net/ but something was wrong, so I can't compile a
kernel patched with suspend 2. Maybe there is something else for this
situation? I'm linux newbie, so thank You for Your patient. Any link
or advice appreciated.

And sorry for my english - it is not my mother language.
