| some difference in the purposes of hotplug and hotswap. Coldplug is to
| make hotplug available at boot time. But hotswap is just a little
| program that is an alternative for i.e. the idectl script (does it need
| hdparm still?).

| wouldn't it make sense to have ibm-acpi create a hotplug event on

it does.
ibm-acpi creates an ibm/bay event, as described on the ibm-acpi README page.
i have altered my acpid config files so it handles the ibm-part, but i
don't actually know the right commands to put into the script
