With most or all of the Iriver flash players you need to load different firmware for it to act as a mass storage device for linux. The firmware is available on the Iriver web site. I am pretty happy with my Neuros, but the HD version is kind of a brick not well suited for jogging etc and the flash setup is only 256 MB. The Neuros II is discontinued, and the III isn't out yet.
