My experiences are different. I find the VESA driver on my T60p 
typically too sluggish for normal operation. It's almost as if one core 
is entirely dedicated to rendering, and all I need to do is a minor 
operation---like move a window around---before you know that one 
processor is maxed out for those seconds, capable of bringing the 
machine to its knees on occasion.
