Well, I don't even have the chance to run fglrx. I tried with a stock
Debian kernel, build the fglrx module with module-assistant, with no
external monitor attached and with a "neutral" xorg.conf (ran dexconf
and then aticonfig --initial). Still, the damn thing freezes on a black
screen...

I tried with the oldish version from unstable (8.24.8) and with
8.27.10, to no avail. But that should not necessarily stop you: there
must be something I am doing wrong...
