Thanks for the suggestion, Nate. I shall try something along those lines. 
(When I've finished this login session using my trusty Xircom!) 
Unfortunately, I live in a dialup-only part of the world, so a modem is a 
fairly essential piece of equipment. I wish I had access to broadband!
