On advice from a friend, have installed

laptop-mode-tools
cpufreqd

(both from the dries repository)

Have disabled cpuspeed, configured cpufreqd for acpi, and enabled laptop
mode. Will now have run tests tomorrow to see if the battery life
improves.

However, while that should get me better battery life, it still will not
stop my palms from getting cooked when I am on AC power, unless I activate
laptop-mode when on AC as well. Am not sure if that is a wise.

Comments?
