please post what version of t60 do you use, especially grafikboard.
When you use this kernel with xorg 7 (make sure using the package.mask 
to get rid of 7.1) and fglrx, please test some things (enabling 
conservative governor by "echo conservative > 
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_governor")
or just start X without any downscaling or power-management actions 
directly after boot.
