[ltp] what is the thinkpad-acpi status in mainline kernel?

I cannot find thinkpad_acpi (don't get it confused with ibm-acpi) anywhere
in the kernel tree, nor can I find changelogs telling me where it went.

It appears it has been finally deprecated and removed in favour of a generic
acpi + ibm_acpi mix?   Can anyone confirm this information?
