[ltp] dapper on t43 - power manager problem

I'm talking about the power manager applet (shows the source of power,
how much battery time is left etc.).
The only thing, dmesg reports that could be related is:

[42949376.210000] ACPI: Looking for DSDT ... not found!

One of the suspects could be HAL, but I'm not too sure. Because `lshal
-m` displays correct information when plugging in or unplugging the
adapter.

Only in my case even the status text information is not updated. It
could be dbus, but I'm not sure how I should check if it is.
