I have that effect at work. But it is not about MHz, it is about HD-speed.
At home i use a ramdisc for / and a nailed-to-600 MHz PentiumM. At work it
is a 3GHz P4 with some 7200rpm HD. The 3GHz-beast feels a lot slower.
