The very idea of confusing HAL with many backlight devices means the HAL (or
distro, they might have been the ones that broke HAL) people are too lazy
for their own good, and instead of doing things right, they are still going
for the fast, short, and obviously wrong path.

That said, the video module is b0rked and reporting backlight interfaces for
stuff that is not active.

Len just sent a batch of stuff for 2.6.24 to Linus, try applying those as
well.  It might fix video.  Try it.
