i have been using a X61 7676-58U for the last 5 months. before this i
had been using a Compaq M700 and Toshiba Satellite 2430. specifically
chose the X61 for it's size and weight. even with the 8 cell battery, it
is still a big relief for my shoulders.

when i first got it in Dec 2007, i had Ubuntu Gutsy installed, then
later Debian x86 and finally now Debian amd64. i still boot Ubuntu Hardy
from an external USB drive to compare Debian with Gutsy but my
preference is still with Debian.

except for the below gripes, everything else is great for me.

1. battery only lasts about 5-6 hours for me compared to more than 7
hours on windows vista.

2. area around fingerprint sensor gets too warm.
