[ltp] t61 with atheros wifi - prefered driver (madwifi - ath5k) and wifi led

Hello,

I just got a new t61 to upgrade a previous one.

This one came with the atheros a/b/g wireless instead of the 4965 a/b/g/n that
is in the previous one.

I have a couple of questions,

First, what wireless driver should I use? I tried ath5k which is supposed to be
the newer one as far as I understood. It recognized the card, showed it with
iwconfig but iwlist doesn't see my wireless network. With madwifi I was able to
connect at the moment.

Which one is better, mostly, is ath5k mature enough or should I stick with
madwifi for now. Also any idea regarding the connection issue?

Second question is the wifi led, after finally getting it to work with the 4965
driver I kind of miss it now. Is there a way to activate it with either driver?
