Exactly. This patch adds the R61 Alps touchpad to the recognized
devices of the Alps kernel driver. However, this driver doesn't handle
passthrough mode correctly (ie when the touchpad is enabled it hides
the trackpoint), so you can't use the trackpoint driver while the
touchpad is enabled. The problem isn't likely to be solved since Alps
didn't provide information on their protocol.


As a temporary workaround, I disabled the touchpad in the bios because
I find the trackpoint more useful than the touchpad.
