[ltp] How do I get my touchpad back again?

All,

I am using a T61 with opensuse 11.2. The touchpad was working before I 
installed gsynapticks in a failed attempt to get the scrolling working on 
touchpad. Well, the scrolling didn't work and somehow, the touchpad is totally 
disabled too. I had gsynapticks removed, but my touchpad isn't responding 
anymore. 

Does anyone know a quick way, like echo 1 into some /sys/devices variable that 
can salvage my touchpad?
