[ltp] debian lenny repos?

hi everyone.
I just switched to a X300 and decided to start with Debian5 (KDE 3.5),. 
could anyone post some helpful repositories for my /apt/sources.list ? 
and some helpful comments on brightness- and volume hotkeys?

I already saw this wiki

- but it did not help

I once ran Kubuntu on another X300 and every hotkey worked, as well as 
the fancontrol scripts. I assume there should be a solution since all 
ubuntu-family is based on debian.

why are there still so many small issues?
