[ltp] T42 and Ubuntu 10.04 report

I'm pleased to report that Ubuntu 10.04 works just fine with my Thinkpad
T42. The only hitch is that the "tpb" package needs to be added in order
for hibernation to work. The recent snit about Canonical altering the
order of window frame controls is not as serious as I initially thought.
The only thing that was altered was Ubuntu's default Gnome theme. Since I
never use that theme, this doesn't affect me at all.

Some other things:

* I like using xterm instead of gterminal for a variety of reasons. If
you don't already have an .Xresources file, it should contain this line:
   *customization: -color
That will make xterm white on black, as it should be.

* Console key rate is a bit too fast. Fix it with this line added to
/etc/rc.local.
   /sbin/kbdrate -r 25 -d 500
