[ltp] Upgrading from IBM to Lenovo?

In digging through the archives, I came across a post in march, 2008:

The post recommended:

1. Prefer ATI over nVidia on the GPU
2. Prefer Intel over anything on the GPU if you don't _need_ extreme 3D performance
   and get Intel wifi
3. Get the better Flexview-like display
4. Non-intel wifi == Atheros, which is good but not stellar yet

Do these recommendations still make sense?
