[ltp] status of tp_smapi

Hallo,

I'm searching a tool for controlling my thinkpads (T2x, T4x).

I've found "tlp" and "laptop-mode-tools".

Running "tlp stat" showed, that "tlp" didn't find a "tp_smapi" module.

Looking for "tp_smapi" showed the sf page and "tp_smapi-0.40".

Running "make load" stopped after many errors. The last discussion in  
the "tp_smapi" was in november 2008 - is that project dead?
Do I need such a program for (p.e.) battery load controlling?
