Oh, thats old. That kernel actually boots that T520? Sandybridge support=20
started with 2.3.38 I believe. For proper operation of the onboard=20
graphics I suggest 3.0.

However the driver in the 2.6.32 squeeze kernel actually lists the PCI id=20
of the network card.

I get this on an T520 with Debian Sid:

merkaba:~> lspci -nn | grep -i network
00:19.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82579LM Gigabit=20
Network Connection [8086:1502] (rev 04)
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N=20
6205 [8086:0085] (rev 34)
merkaba:~> modinfo e1000e | grep 1502=20
alias: pci:v00008086d00001502sv*sd*bc*sc*i*
merkaba:~> uname -a
Linux merkaba 3.0.0-2-amd64 #1 SMP Fri Oct 7 20:48:45 UTC 2011 x86_64=20
GNU/Linux

And this on a Debian Squeeze:

mondschein:~> modinfo e1000e | grep 1502
alias: pci:v00008086d00001502sv*sd*bc*sc*i*
mondschein:~> uname -a
Linux mondschein 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Fri Sep 9 20:51:05 UTC 2011 i686=20
GNU/Linux

Anyway, first check whether your ubuntu kernel has that PCI id, maybe it=20
has been backported to it. If it does, then I am stuck. I=B4d strongly=20
suggest using at least 2.6.38, better 3.0 on a T520.

Ubuntu LTS 10.04 and a laptop from this year ask for trouble, if you ask=20
me.

Ciao,
