alsamixer is turned up (is as aumix). I haven't found anything in the
BIOS that deals with audio levels.

After a bit of digging I found amixer, which gave me a list of some
information about my audio devices...

http://pastebin.com/vNZNeEGJ

The interesting bit is the "Limits" set for the Master device versus
others...

Simple mixer control 'Master',0
  Capabilities: pvolume pswitch pswitch-joined penum
Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
  Limits: Playback 0 - 74

Simple mixer control 'PCM',0
  Capabilities: pvolume penum
Playback channels: Front Left - Front Right
  Limits: Playback 0 - 255

Haven't really found any good information on what Limits exactly is, but
considering it's got a percentage next to it that syncs right up with my
general volume, I'm guessing it's some sort of throttle. More searching
but it doesn't seem like amixer lets me change this item.

Any hints?
