But of course, my older X201s's 1440x900 12.1" display has
a higher 140dpi.

While I really appreciated the high DPI in my Neo Freerunner, I agree
that for a laptop screen, I don't need more than 140dpi.
OTOH having only 768 pixels vertically is really frustrating, especially
if you consider all the vertical space given to the bezel.
My next laptop will be small and light (definitely no wider than my 14"
T60) but will have at least 990 pixels vertically.  Currently it pretty
much means it won't be a Thinkpad.
