I've dropped back to the 3.7.9, which has got me back to the 150 mbs 
connects I used to see. Not sure if the problem is in the Arch kernel 
build or the 3.8.x kernel itself.

I'm going to try my own 3.8.x kernel build and see if that has the same 
problem.

:) No experience doing a git bisect, but I guess given the fact that the 
3.7.9 kernel is working properly its not as necessary....
