Dear Thinkpad users,
I am running RedHat 6.0 on a Thinkpad 560 X. Unfortunately, my PCMCIA
CDROM drive (a Sony Discman PRD-250) is not correctly initialized (or
whatever). When inserting the card, I am getting the following
messages:
Nov 14 15:56:57 tp cardmgr[176]: initializing socket 0
Nov 14 15:56:57 tp cardmgr[176]: socket 0: Adaptec APA-1460 SlimSCSI

I use a 2.2.5 kernel, which I have compiled with the following SCSI
options:
CONFIG_SCSI=m
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SD=m
CONFIG_CHR_DEV_ST=m
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SR=m
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SR_VENDOR=y
CONFIG_CHR_DEV_SG=m
CONFIG_SCSI_CONSTANTS=y
CONFIG_SCSI_LOGGING=y
CONFIG_SCSI_G_NCR5380_PORT=y
Of course, I have recompiled the PCMCIA modules. My
/etc/pcmcia/config contains the following line for the AHA 152x
driver:
device "aha152x_cs"
class "scsi" module "scsi/scsi_mod", "scsi/sr_mod", "aha152x_cs"
And this is /etc/conf.modules:
keep
path[thinkpad]=/lib/modules
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias char-major-10-170 thinkpad
options thinkpad enable_smapi=1 enable_superio=1 enable_rtcmosram=1
pre-install pcmcia_core /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start
