Actually, this depends on what kernel rev your running. I just
recently purchased a i1460, and both 2.2.14 and 2.3.51 have working drivers
for the ESS Solo. I know this driver was introduced in 2.2.12, but I can't
vouch for its stability in that version. I don't use the modem so I'm tied
to 2.2.12.
I do have a question about apm on the i1460... how do I get this
thing to sleep when I close the lid? I remember on my VAIO 505G it just worked
with either 2.2.x or 2.3.x with Debian's a default configured apm package. I've
tried a few combinations of kernel options, but to no avail.
Also, is there a mail list search capacity? The archive downloads is
a tad crude. Is anybody working on making it available if it isn't? If not, I
can put something together, or I'll make an offer to setup a mailing list on my
server which has a nice builtin archive interface (CommuniGate Pro).
