I think the i1460 is too far down the ACPI road. Fn+F4 works somehow for
suspending the beast---sometimes the fan keeps running, sometimes the TP
will wake up by itself all of a sudden. I've not tried the 2.3.x---from the
kernel news pages it looked as if they had ACPI support in the 2.3 kernel
series?
I'm currently using SWSUSP (software suspend) which works quite nicely,
except that it fails when you have threaded procs running (in.identd or
StarOffice, for example). Killing/exiting those before invoking SWSUSP
works, though.
