OK I've heard sound under Linux without Alsa but for some reason I'm
getting problem when it does the insmod
Currently I'm using the FUSION supporting 2.4.3 and I'm lead to believe
that I don't need any alsa to actually hear sound. I've heard sound
without Alsa on the machine but I don't know what's broken now.
I'm using the cs46xx drive and I have the following in /etc/modules.conf
pre-install pcmcia_core CARDMGR_OPTS=-f /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start
alias usb-interface usb-uhci
alias sound-slot-0 cs46xx
options cs46xx thinkpad=1
This was all I was told I need and I've seen this working before.
Now though when I boot I see the following at boot time.
