Hi all,
First I have to say I am new to this mailing list system, so i just hope
this reaches the correct people... :)
I have an IBM thinkpad i1400 model: 2621-460
I have recently installed Linux 7.1 on it (why that distribution?
Simple, its the only one I had, but I am always open to sugestions)
I am trying to get my PCMCIA Networking card (a Xircom RBE-100) to
function.
During the install everything seemed fine, The PCMCIA device was
recognized and installed peoperly and the Networking card was also
recognized and installed.
Here is the current situation, When I boot Kudzo opens up and says the
card has been removed from the system, I say do nothing because it has
not been removed. As the system continues to boot, the eth0
initilization fails, and later I hear the double beep that tells me the
PCMCIA device loaded.
Now how do I get all this to function correrctly? :) I have been
searching through different articles and can't find anything like this.
Any ideas?
I also have to add that I am little new to the linux world myself. I
have a great functioning Red Hat 7.1 system on my desktop. I got
everything working (after the 3 instalation) but now the computer runs
great. But this is my first attempt on a labtop, and so far,
not-so-good....
Thanks for whatever ideas you have.
Jimmy
