Distro: RHLinux 7.1
Kerenl 2.4.2-2
Thinkpad A20p
Modem: PCI, Lucent WinModem 56K
Chipset Vendor: 11c1, device: 0449
I traced out the modem driver installation guided mostly from

The driver that is most approperiate for my modem ltmodem-5.99b.tar.gz
