Hi !

I had a lot of trouble with acpi and my R40e. My R40e
is now running with kernel2.6-test9 (i'm waiting for the 2.6 debian-package).

I compiled the kernel with building all acpistuff as modules, if I now
load that modules, without loading processor.ko and thermal.ko, acpi
works :-)

That means i can see the status of my battery, adn the notebook switches
of after shutdown - but no suspend-to-ram, or suspend-to-disk.

I had/have also a lot of other problems:

 - the tg3-driver of kernel2.6 is lodable, but does not work
   i have to use a proprietary broadcom-driver

 - the debian-thinkpad-patch for the tpctl-tools does still not work

 - my xserver does not support opengl on my card
   output of lspci:
   --
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon IGP 340M
   --
someone said that it is possible fake the pci-id of this card to
   older, but compatible card.

I'm currently writing a debian-related install-howto for this notebook,
maybe someone can give some useful hints - to solve that problems.

Best regards
