Hi all,
I've been following the recent threads on Atheros a/b Wifi drivers. I
cannot comment on that, because I'm unable to switch to "b" mode.
Apparently, the driver loads ok (although unloading and reloading the
ath_pci module produces a kernel oops) however, the driver does not
recognize the "b" mode of the card:
(cf. void ieee80211_media_init and ic->ic_modecaps in file:
wlan/if_ieee80211subr.c, still trying to track down why the b mode is not
detected though)
basically, the line
"ath0: 11b rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps"
is missing.
According to the readme file:
iwpriv ath0 mode 2 lock operation to 11b only
but:
gandalf madwifi-20030702# iwpriv ath0 mode 2
<mapping sub-ioctl mode to cmd 0x8BE0-2>
Interface doesn't accept private ioctl...
mode (8BE0): No such device or address
(which is not surprising, ...)
Any thoughts? Any help is greatly appreciated.
ps:
I have no 802.11a Acces point, so I cannot test if .a works...
