This may sound silly, but: Are you sure you've got the Wireless Card the
madwifi-drivers are made for? I always believed my X30 was having a
prism2-compatible card, but after some fiddling around and googling I
discovered the Cisco Aironet thingy I got is not prism2-compatible.
