Never mind: I got it working by building the pcmcia drivers in the kernel
rather than as modules, and enabling ISA. I'm not sure if the pcmcia
drivers actually needed to be in the kernel, but the ISA support seems to
be crucial. Any ideas why that is? Surely a PCMCIA card has nothing at all
to do with ISA?
