[ltp] Noisy hard disk

yes I bought it brand new a few days ago. i chcked the
model number. it is the same as you mentioned. there
is no spin noise. that is it is quite most of the
time. but when there is a hard disk access, it makes
some sound. it is not very loud, but not quiet either.
Like some other thinkpad models and dell laptops are
very quite on disk access.

i want to know what is your experience with t40. does
the hard disk make some sound/a lot of sound/no sound
at all on disk access. I just want to know if this is
a normal feature of the hard drive in t40s or is it
something extraordinary. I still have a chance of
replacing the computer. i don't have lot of time to
make the decision though. 

it would be nice if you could give your personal
experience with t40 hard disk.
